Brad, thank you for taking on this project. I've watched for many decades as public schools were merely considered inferior, or inefficient, or unable to prepare children for success. Few observers could see that all schools, public and private, were becoming agents of collectivist ideology. Then suddenly, they blossomed into the child-eating plant we see today. We should have seen it coming. I hope your effort at philosophical detection can help us find the way back.

Plato must be sitting in his cave, nodding and chuckling with satisfaction. His dream of "children of the state" has almost become a reality.

All I could think of while reading this was we are becoming Sparta where children were taken at birth to be raised collectively by the state. For years I have repeatedly thought, "Well now, they have gone too far...surely my fellow citizens will stop accepting the usurpation of their rights and lives with whatever latest depredation the government has inflicted". It hasn't happened, yet, but with this we have truly run out of time.

Thanks Brad. Truly frightening, but not surprising. I look forward to your subsequent thoughts and, per your concluding comments, will certainly share this. Be well.

Agree that this is the heart of the current battle. Between abortion, greed, status-seeking and hostility to the natural family, the left can't reproduce itself in sufficient numbers biologically, so it has become even more virulent in its attempt to control the next generation ideologically. If we can take education away from them they can't reproduce.
